SNOW! We started off our February with a huge load of snow. On the bright side, this means that the temperatures were warmer than in January. We actually had blizzard warnings! But just like before, we live in one of the best parts of Brooklyn and were pretty protected from the elements!
| All of this snow came from just one hour |
| Our terrace the next morning |
I actually wasn't upset with this snow like I might have been back in Idaho. When there is this much snow, you don't have to move your car for street cleaning, and you can still get to most of the places you need to go on the Subway!

| Poor unfortunate soul! |
Unfortunately we didn't bring any of our snow gear with us. I guess we just thought, its the city...where are going going to play in the snow? Well, the park that is just 2 blocks away is a GREAT place to play in the snow!
| Prospect Park |
We did our best anyways. We bundled up in layers and headed out to see what fun we could have.
| The sidewalks were shoveled, but that's no fun! |
| Malia thought this big mound of shoveled snow was so cool! |
| This looks like Clint is torturing Malia, but he's actually teaching her how to make a snow angel |
| Poor Owen didn't have any shoes that would work for the snow, so he watched from the stroller |
| Everyone thought it was so funny to attack me with snow... |
| Including Owen... |
Owen has started brushing his teeth, and it is one of his favorite things to do! All I have to say is "Time to brush teeth" and he's off in a mad dash to the bathroom!
Its probably a good thing he loves to brush his teeth, since he loves ANYTHING sweet. Now if I could just get him to love washing his face...
| I guess he didn't realize just how messy oreos are! |
People always complain about how indecisive Idaho weather is. Well I think New York is just as bad! A couple days after our "Blizzard" we had a beautiful day and the kids and I went back to the park. This time to play on the playground equipment! Owen had his first experience on the slide and had a blast! He has NO fear, which makes me have enough for the both of us! But I guess boys will be boys!
The primary had a Valentine's Day party! The primary president brought these chimes and taught them how to play a song. It was so fun!

| Malia and her chime |
Owen got some new shoes! He loved them so much he insisted on putting them back on after putting his pj's on, and I couldn't take them off until AFTER he had fallen asleep!
| Owen ready to go for a run...in his pj's! |
After the snow storm, I thought we should get Owen some boots, so that if it snowed again, he could join in on the fun!
| This is the monster box that Owen's tiny boots came in! There weren't any air bags, or peanuts, or any kind of filling in this box, so we when opened it, the boots weren't even inside their original box! So wasteful! |
| So naturally, we made a fire truck! With 2 steering wheels of course! |
| Owen loved his boots! It took him a while to get used to walking around in them. At first he walked around like some sort of German soldier! |
| Owen looking spiffy in his new suit! |
Malia loves to ride the train, and usually complains if we decide to drive to church. We try to take the train as often as we can, but that means leaving 45 minutes early. (we have to walk 2 blocks to the train, then 2 blocks from the train to the church, and Malia's walking speed is pitiful ) So its a great motivator to keep things moving in the morning so that we can be ready on time.
